FinOps Specialist (15525)

**Federal Project – Applicant must be a United States Citizen, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust. **

Baer is looking for FinOps Specialist for a 6 month Federal Project located in DC.

Title: FinOps Specialist
Location: DC Metro Area – 1 Day per Week Onsite Required
Duration: 6 months
Rate: All-Inclusive
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)

Description:

• Conduct in-depth cloud analysis to identify areas of optimization and cost efficiency.
• Develop a deep understanding of the technology offered by the CSP and stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights related to cloud usage and spending.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving measures and operational improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executives, finance teams, and technical teams.
• Monitor and track cloud spending, identifying any discrepancies or anomalies.
• Work closely with finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of cloud costs.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to cloud computing and FinOps practices.

Requirements:

• Deep familiarity with at least one major Cloud Service Provider (CSP), such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of cloud technology and services, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS).
• Proven experience in cloud analysis and optimization, with a track record of identifying cost efficiencies and operational improvements.
• Familiarity with financial concepts and budgeting processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Practitioner, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus
• Bachelor’s degree
