FinOps Data Analytics Engineer

Why we’re hiring:We are on a journey in establishing a technology driven FinOps capability and building a Central FinOps platform to recharge, visualise and optimise Cloud and SaaS spend at scale. The platform will empower WPP agencies to self-service manage their cloud and SaaS estates from a cost and optimisation perspectives.What you’ll be doing:As a FinOps Data Analytics Engineer, you’ll work closely with our engineering team to build new data warehouses, marts and products on Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end business intelligence solutions with the end goal of simplifying IT finance data to improve cost visibility and gain insights into WPP IT spend to drive an optimised and efficient IT function.To support IT financial data transformation you will have a primary focus on enterprise-wide data warehouse design, data models, and storage optimisation. Typically, with DBT, BigQuery and GCP.Your core goals as FinOps Analytics Engineer are:

• Design and build brand new data warehouse & data mart solutions to simplify finance data from various sources such as: Cloud Vendor, ERP systems etc.
  • Transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting data.
  • Understand optimization and storage for warehouse technology.
• Apply software engineering best practices to analytics; version control, testing and continuous integration.

What you’ll need:This is a hands-on role, requiring the following skills:

• Expertise in data warehouses technologies like Google BigQuery.
• Expertise in data transformation tools like DBT, Dataform as well as SQL programming language.
• Expertise in BI solutions like Looker/ PowerBI.
• Version control, git, CI/CD.
