Principal Software Engineer, FinOps – Central Technology

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Propose and implement new software architecture designs across a wide array of patterns: Data Pipeline, API, Cron jobs, Slack bot, UI
  • Contribute as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers in software development and infrastructure design.
  • Coordinate with internal partners and customers when developing new solutions.
  • Coordinate with FinOps Business Analysts
  • Stay up-to-date on FinOps concepts and methodologies

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Experience serving as a mentor to other engineers
  • Experience leading projects from the ground up, breaking work into logical components, and delivering results as projected
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with software programming with Python
  • Hands-on experience with SQL tables and SQL queries
  • Hands-on experience developing API’s, UI’s, and data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and continuous integration testing
  • Strong collaborative approach

 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Previous experience with FinOps practices and cost management analysis
  • Previous experience with deploying projects via AWS Lambda
