Technical Business Analyst – FinOps – Central Technology

The immediate area of responsibility would be managing the FinOps Technology team within Developer Services that manages cost optimization, cloud reservations, and forecasting, as well as providing general data insights and expertise to the broader Central Technology team.
You will help craft the future of central services at Zynga, and ensure that game teams can develop and deliver compelling experiences for players across mobile, console, and PC. You will partner with engineers, senior leadership, and other internal partners across multiple studios to build & improve processes and tools.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with large amounts of data to provide business insights based on in-depth data analysis and demonstrate how that analysis impacts cost optimization and product metrics.
- Build financial models based on product usage and costs to inform vendor negotiations and quarterly budget planning.
- Evangelize data-driven decision making. Be able to clearly articulate data trends and help our partner teams understand how they relate to their products.
- Assist with quantitative analysis and data deep dives when additional data analytical support is needed.
- Champion a culture of financial responsibility to partner teams and empower them to take ownership of optimizing their spending.
- Identify & deconstruct competitive offerings in the market, formulate insights and use them to inform future roadmap direction.
- Ability to balance engineering, partner, and business interests while considering technical tradeoffs.
- Collaborate closely with Analytics, Finance, and game teams to drive standard methodologies for data analytics.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in quantitative fields like Statistics, Comp Sci, Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience (e.g. business analyst, etc).
- 2 years of Data Analytics, Business Analyst, or Product Management experience. Preferably in mobile apps, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise software.
- Strong experience in SQL. Proficient in Python. Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud computing (EC2, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB)
- Ability to build wire-frames, product specifications, dashboards, and reports.
- Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive staff.
- Outstanding written/oral, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Be a self-starter, a great teammate and driven.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and customer management skills.
